My name is Joe Geluso. I teach classes in English and conduct research at the university level in Tokyo, Japan. I received my PhD in 2019 from Iowa State University (ISU) where I majored in applied linguistics and technology. My research interests include corpus linguistics, phraseology, second language acquisition, and research methods in applied linguistics. I am particularly interested in weaving these areas together by investigating corpus-based approaches to second language learning grounded in cognitive-functional linguistic theory.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis, jogging, watching movies and TV series, and spending time with my family.
