My name is Joe Geluso. I am associate professor at Nihon University’s College of Law in Tokyo, Japan. I received my PhD in 2019 from Iowa State University (ISU) where I majored in applied linguistics and technology. My research interests include corpus linguistics, phraseology, and research methods in applied linguistics. I use mostly Python (Pandas, Seaborn, NumPy, etc.) for corpus and data analysis, partially because most people in applied linguistics seem to be pushing for R, and I like to root for the underdog.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing tennis, doing GMB, watching movies and TV series, and reading books.
